Aujourd’hui, nous avons mis la dernière touche à notre guide touristique de Pampelune, un projet collaboratif conçu avec nos binômes espagnols. Après les ultimes ajustements sur InDesign, nous avons procédé à son impression en numérique et à sa finition pour lui donner son aspect final.

L’après-midi, place à la création sur machines professionnelles ! Nous avons conçu des porte-clés en bois en réalisant un design sur Illustrator, imprimé ensuite avec la presse à plat Mimaki. Nous avons aussi découvert la table de découpe numérique Kongsberg ESKO, utilisée pour des prototypes d’emballage.

Enfin, nous avons préparé des déguisements inspirés des logiciels Adobe pour le carnaval de Pampelune. Une journée riche en pratique et en apprentissages.

Today we put the finishing touches to our tourist guide to Pamplona, a collaborative project designed with our Spanish partners. After making the final adjustments in InDesign, we went on to digital printing and finishing to give it its final look.

In the afternoon, it was time to create on professional machines! We designed wooden key rings using Illustrator, which were then printed on the Mimaki flatbed press. We also discovered the Kongsberg ESKO digital cutting table, used for packaging prototypes.

Finally, we prepared costumes inspired by Adobe software for the Pamplona carnival. It was a day of learning and practice.

Ce matin, nous avons découvert le procédé de flexographie en observant l’impression de stickers destinés aux Portes Ouvertes du lycée. Une belle occasion d’en apprendre plus sur cette technique utilisée pour les impressions en grande série.

Ensuite, place à la sérigraphie textile. Après avoir sélectionné deux designs – l’un pour l’avant et l’autre pour le dos du t-shirt – nous avons suivi chaque étape du processus : insolation et création de l’écran, nettoyage à haute pression, puis impression en une couleur (noire) sur nos t-shirts. Nous avons veillé à respecter un positionnement précis à 10 cm du col, avant de fixer l’encre dans un four à 160°C après l’impression.

Les élèves espagnols ont eux-mêmes assuré en anglais et avec beaucoup de professionnalisme les explications et l’accompagnement des activités.

Une journée technique et formatrice où nous avons pu manipuler du matériel professionnel et expérimenter deux procédés d’impression majeurs dans l’industrie graphique.

This morning, we discovered the flexography process by observing the printing of stickers for the school’s Open House. It was a great opportunity to learn more about this technique, which is used for mass production printing.

Next up was textile screen printing. After selecting two designs – one for the front and the other for the back of the T-shirt – we followed each stage of the process: exposure and creation of the screen, high-pressure cleaning, then printing in one colour (black) on our T-shirts. We took care to ensure precise positioning 10 cm from the collar, before fixing the ink in an oven at 160°C after printing.

The Spanish students themselves provided professional explanations and support for the activities in English.

It was a technical and instructive day, during which we were able to handle professional equipment and experiment with two major printing processes in the graphics industry.
